In our latest episode we start off with Diz’s report on the Golden Globes which really just means he heard about one award and tells us that. We wonder about the Martian as a comedy and then nature of movie categories in general. We discuss the Oregon militia situation and the hypocrisy of the media coverage and public response especially in light of protests like Black Lives Matter. We wonder the difference between “peaceful armed protest” and acts of sedition. Eventually we get to discussing when books become movies or are adapted to TV. We mention Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Legend of the Seekers, some comic book adaptations and MTV’s newest, the Shannara Chronicles. We look at what makes a successful adaptation and what are some bad adaptations.
